THE FUEL IS INJECTED INTO THE ENGINE CYLINDER BY AN INJECTOR IN DIESEL ENGINE. THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP IS THE DEVICE THAT PUMPS FUEL INTO THE CYLINDERS OF DIESEL ENGINE. THE PUMP INDIRECTLY  DRIVEN  FROM CRANK SHAFT BY GEARS.

fly wheel

It saves the power in other strokes. The fly wheel is a heavy steel wheel attached to the rear end of crankshaft. the engine delivers power during power stroke.The engine tends up to speed up. The other stoke are dead strokes where they absord power. The flywheel absorbs the energy in power stroke due to inertia and delivers the energy in dead strokes.. thus the fly wheel keeps the engine at constant ratio 

single cylinder and multicylinder engine

Power output is more uniform in case of multicylinder engines due to increase in frequency of power impulses with the increase in the number of cylinders. As number of cylinders increases, torstional, vibration.
