Tungabhadra Dam shortly also Called as T.B Dam Located in Hosapete Vijayanagara District, Previously in Bellary District. The purpose of T.B dam is to generate Electricity, Irrigation, Domestic, Flood Control, Industrial etc., While constructing T.B Dam in Year 1949-1952 Material used are Mud and Lime Stone is used instead of Cement,  T.B dam is non-cement Dams in Karnataka and India. The Dam is Started in 1949 in joint venture of Hyderabad and Madras Government, Later after January Republic of India the states of  Karnataka and Andra Pradesh involvement in Construction, Completed in 4 years after Started in 1949. Presently 75 years old Dam in Karnataka and India. T.B Dam is biggest water Storage Capacity Dam in Karnataka with 100+ TMC Feet. The Dam has 33 Crest gates given Different colours Lights in Night.
